4 stars (Another small set of improvements) - Of late I have been skipping years between Mac Quicken upgrades, and even doing that, find relatively little changed each time. Perhaps that is why Intuit is happy to force stragglers forward by restricting online banking features to recent releases (although as software developer myself, I do understand the support and maintenance arguments as well). The 2006 release continues in this vein, but I do feel it was a worthwhile investment on its own merits. My credit union has paid the "Mac tax" Intuit requires in order for their online banking features to interoperate with Quicken, so I am lucky enough to be able to use them. And they work very well. The one-step-update and downloaded transaction windows look nicer and are more responsive compared to the 2004 version, and have some useful new features. For example, the downloaded transactions window's dropdown menu for choosing an online account now provides a visual indication of which accounts contain new transactions. This saves a lot of time in conjunction with one-step updates. The new flexibility in scheduling calendar-based transactions is useful too. There were things (like my direct-deposit paychecks) which previously couldn't automatically be assigned the right dates. Now they can, and it was easy to fix them. I'm less impressed with the much hyped "backup to .Mac" feature, however. It's perhaps helpful for people who lack a backup strategy for all their important documents (such as the Backup program which comes with .Mac), but it pales by comparison with what it could and should be: Quicken should take advantage of the Sync Services offered by Tiger and .Mac to let you synchronize your Quicken accounts between multiple computers. I should not have to care whether I'm on my PowerBook at work or my PowerMac at home; transactions I enter in either place should appear on the other. Instead, I can only run Quicken at home and sync with Pocket Quicken on my Treo. ... 1 stars (USB doesn't work) - I tried the CD to install the USB connection between pen and PC. Failed so many times. I tried for one month, I decided to return it. And I hope I still can get full refund. 1 stars (Doesn't work with OS X) - I want to like this thing, but I can't, for it does not work at all with OS X. So, if, like me, you run Apples, just pass on by this page because the thing will not work for you. 3 stars (Not as good as the C-Pen 800C) - I'm measuring, first and foremost, ease and precision of scanning. Speed of scanning and ease of installation on the computer are, in my mind, about the same for both this, the Wizcom QuickLink Elite, and the C-Pen 800C. They differ sufficiently, however, in the primary question of ease and quality of scanning. For the record, I bought both at the same time, with the intent of keeping the better of the two. You can just go ahead and buy the C-Pen 800C. I have had one horrible experience with a pen scanner by Siemens, the "Pocket Reader." It was truly useless. It scanned so poorly that I just put it aside. By the time I though to return it, Siemens was no longer making it, and I couldn't get customer service here in the U.S. The Wizcom QuickLink Elite is not so bad. It's serviceable. I don't think it lives up to its 95% accuracy guarantee, but perhaps meets a 90% threshold, measured impressionistically. It's interface is also reasonable and satisfactory. However, the C-Pen 800C is even more precise, truly approaching 95%. Moreover, if you discount errors in spacing from this accuracy percentage, its precision is even higher. Whereas the Wizcom is just as likely to make a content error, misread letters, etc., the 800C's errors are more likely to be the absence of a space when there should be one. A rare missed space doesn't make you puzzle over the text when you come back to it two months later. C-Pen is also lighter, and it's rechargeable, so while it's more expensive, in the long run, you'll save on batteries. Bo... 5 stars (MS Small Business) - I'm not a MS fan, but this is a great package for a small business owner who is interested in contact managment and sales as well as document and presentation work. 5 stars (Love it... But one HUGE problem...) - Howdy, I just wanted to share one BIG problem I've encountered. The "Business Contact Manager" (comes on a seperate disk) is NOT compatable with ANY version of "Intellisync". So, If you use a Palm device, you will not be able to use the Business Contact Manager and be able to sync your Palm on the same computer. Just wanted to give everyone a fair warning... 1 stars (MICROSOFT - TERRIBLE SUPPORT) - I made a terrible mistake in purchasing this upgrade. Having spent a total of 14 hours on phone with Microsoft Technical Support they were unable to get my PC to accept the upgrade. Microsoft grudgingly admitted they have a lot of glitches with Office 2003 and they plan to ship a revision on February, 28 2004. Meantime, Microsoft refused to issue a refund or offer any type of amicable solution. My battle with the 6,000 lb gorilla continues. ... 5 stars (A great source of information for the independent.) - The information is very useful, just the e-book information itself is extremely valuable. The other "reviewer" said that he did not find it useful, and that there was no flexibitliy. However, I disagree, you can make any information as flexible as you choose by simply "exporting" the data. Many forms here, give you all the legal basics that I simply could not find on line (that is without having to pay for it). There is very little information that you can actually obtain for free anymore, and if you find it, you've probably invested hours upon hours of time that could be better spent running your business. I'm thrilled with my Legal Business Pro, now I can do all the work myself, and finetune it as I see fit (by simply exporting the finished document). And for a business owner that does business in several states, it has you covered, as you simply select which state(s) and it extracts the information relevant to you needs. A great resource, for those who would rather do their own work than shell out cash every time they need a simple legal form drafted. 5 stars (The best software product for small business !) - This is a great software product for small business owners. It has dozens of forms, sample letters, and worksheets to help with forming a business, hiring employees, borrowing and lending money, leasing space, etc. In addition to the forms, it includes the full text of five Nolo books: Legal Guide for Starting & Running a Small Business, Tax Savvy for Small Business, Everyday Employment Law, Marketing Without Advertising, and Leasing Space for Your Small Business. The books alone make this an amazing deal. Given Nolo's reputation for plain English self-help materials, this is a must-have for any business owner's computer. The peace of mind in being able to look up basic legal, human resources, and tax questions has made this an excellent purchase for me. 1 stars (Not Very Useful) - I th... 5 stars (A Great game for FPS and WWII buffs) - This game was amazing. The action was top notch graphics were stunning and they had great missions. It couldnt get much better. GREAT BUY! 4 stars (Awesome, BUT...) - Call OF Duty and it's Expansion (United Offensive) are truly great games... if you've never seen a war movie in your life. It has GREAT effects, low hardware requierments, great gameplay... but the story seems like it's pieced together from WW2 movies like "Saving Private Ryan" and "Enemy at the Gates". It seems like i've played this game before. Never-the-less, as far as WW2 games go, this one is sure one of the better ones. 4 stars (Fun Game) - I'm still new to the game, but my impression so far is that is an excellent FPS game. However, Counter Strike-Source is the KING! ... Activision :: Bundle (Bundles) :: Collections (Collections) :: Shooters (Shooter) :: Action :: Computer Games :: :: Call of Duty Deluxe Edition
5 stars (A Rookie's First Look At Online Gaming) - When I a little concerned when I read all of the negative comments about Star Wars Galaxies until I recognized a common theme. The people spewing the negative rants were all players who suffered in some way or other from the Combat Upgrade. This was a major sea change in SWG that was aimed at standardizing some areas of the game and eliminating inequities that granted unfair advantages to those who had been exploiting them. Based on my experience, it seemed that the anti-SWG constituency had also had their "oxen gored" by the changes. While I am sympathetic to their plight (although I have little patience with so-called "power gamers" who get caught with their hands in the cookie jar), the post-Combat Upgrade world would be the only SWG that I would ever know. In other words, the game would be what it was when I joined. It's much like the old joke about how many San Francisco 49er fans it would take to change a light bulb? One to install the bulb and three to stand around and talk about how great the old bulb used to be. Once I decided to join, it went as smoothly as I could have ever wanted. Although I had never played an MMORPG, the installation, setup and character creation were a snap. The game graphics are excellent and the theme music by John Williams is excellent. Because of the fluid nature of this type of game, the manual is, by necessity, broadly written and strategy guids are of limited usefullness. Although, there is an excellent in-game Help feature (the Holocron), the very best way to figure out things that have you stumped is to make friends. I admit to becoming very frustrated by undocumented problems until I asked an obviously experienced character for help. He responded with patience and good humor at the dumb rookie questions I threw his way and actually seemed to enjoy helping me along. We have since become good friends in the game and I can always rely on him for a helping hand ... 5 stars (Best original Sim game!) - If you've never experienced a Sim game, this is the place to start! Original and clever it will always be considered a classic! 4 stars (A good game!) - In the Sims Deluxe I liked it better and worse than the regular sims. I liked it better because there were more interesting things to buy and do. I liked it worse because it wasn't as easy as the sims. For example, in THE SIMS I made a boyfriend who was a negative to my sign of the zodiac. But now I have so many things to do. I do recommend this though ;) 1 stars (Dont waste your money) - First, Let me say, the reason I gave this a 1 star rating isnt the game itself, I havent gotten to play it yet! Not from this disc. I ordered it brand new, it was delivered, I unwrapped it, and tried to install it. The serial # EA GAMES printed on it (which you have to have to install it on your computer), is invalid!!!! And, I cant get an answer from their tech support/customer service on this. I have found others who have bought this version with the exact same problem. If you can get this in a jewel case, good. It seems when they come in the case shown on this page, the serial #'s wont work, and you have to go through a huge hassel to get it fixed. ***This is not an amazon problem, it is an EA GAMES problem ... 5 stars (Awesome Game!!!) - This game has all the things to make your dreams of becoming a superhero come true. It also has a great replay value and keeps you playing for many hours. It is great for first timers to the MMO genre. 4 stars (City Of Heroes rocks) - Having owned City Of Heroes since it was released, a hard drive crash and a lost CD sent me hunting for a replacement. The DVD is my default choice when available, and the extra content made it even better. NC Soft keeps adding more and more material to the game with each publish and the bonuses they throw at you during certain holidays and such really make it more enjoyable. I play World of Warcraft and Guild Wars, but I refuse to give up my flying super heroes! Creating characters is almost as much fun as playing them! 1 stars (FORGET IT!) - This seems like a great game and all but I'm NOT going to pay a monthly bill just to play a game, no matter how good it is!I was just thinking about buying this game too.:( ...
