Civilization 3 Complete

5 stars (Best Game Ever!) - This is by far the best strategy game ever developed in the computer gaming industry. I can't wait for Civ IV!!! 2 stars (Great Game If You Can Get It to Work; Recommend with Extreme Caution) - Great Aspects: If you can get the game properly installed and working, then it's well-worth the money. Between the many races, many ways to win, and the many paths to get to those wins (tech, weapons, diplomacy, etc.), this game is quite entertaining. The graphics and music are pretty good and the wide array of in-game options (as well as quick to learn) is a strong plus. Downside: Discs seem to have too much copy-protection on them to the point where legal copies of the game can't be read by some CD-drives. Atari tech support is extremly slow and useless and will blame the problem on you unless you really want to push them. Summary: The fun factor (5 stars) isn't in question here, it's the ability to actually play the game. If you have a slightly older CD-drive, you're probably okay. A new CD-ROM drive might present some serious difficulties. Don't hesistate to return the game if it doesn't work with your system. Recommend with Extreme Caution. 4 stars (More Scenarios) - I have enjoyed Civ from the beginning. The Civ3 scenarios are excellent. They give the flavor of the different periods and a good sense of history. however there are some scenarios in Civ2 that are not available in Civ3 that I am aware of and I keep hoping they will show up. The American Revolution, the American Civil War, WWI (even if it is only the European and Mediterranean theaters, and WWII European, Mediterranean and North African theaters. Make no mistake the scenarios available in Civ3 are excellent, ancient Mediterranean, ancient Japan, medieval, Napoleonic and the World War2 Pacific Campaign are all great. I'm sure there are some scenarios that I have left out. You can see those that I play most often. ...

Codename- Panzers Phase 2

5 stars (Totally Sweet) - This game really has a lot going for it. Using historical battles one can have a lot of fun. My only complaint is that Krupps were not like they were in the first game. The allied campaign was really tough. Read up on your strategy for this game because it gets tough. If you liked the first one, I would highly suggest this game. 2 stars (It should have been a patch.) - This game should have been a free patch to codename panzers one.I don't now how stormregion had the nerve to charge 40 bucks and tax for this game.I really enjoyed codename panzers one and was looking forward to the release of this game. Its little more then an improvement on the gaming console and a slight extension of the game.I really do feel robbed,I'm sorry. 5 stars (Panzers) - This game is the Top Game under the strategy games 20 new units, choose your country. A good mix from single and multi-user gaming. Nice landscape graphics. Have played two whole nights already ... simply a must buy. ...

Sacred Gold Edition

4 stars (Ascaron - Buggy and Temperamental Software) - While their games have great potential their attention to detail is terrible. Never buy a first edition game from them. Wait several months for them to work out the bugs. I am very computer literate and could not find a way to make early versions work on very standard setup PC's. 5 stars (Excellent!) - I tend more towards RTS games, so when I randomly started playing Sacred Gold because it happened to be in my boyfriend's computer at the time, I was surprised to find myself hooked. (He still hasn't gotten his CD's back...) Sacred has a wonderful plotline, something lacking in many RPG's, but its real strength lies in the actual gameplay. There is a main quest running throughout the game, but you can also complete numerous side quests for rewards--these side quests can even affect your reputation in the game, it seems. The quests make the game very wide-open and allows you to play at your leisure. The Gold edition gives you eight different character types to choose from, and they happily stray a bit from the usual standards--yes, you have your dwarf, your battle mage, and your fighter, but you can also play a seraphim with angelic blood, a vampiress who is a knight by day, your choice of a wood elf or a dark elf, and my personal favorite, a demon. Each class has its own set of abilities, set as either spells or combat arts. Sacred Gold also contains the Underworld expansion, which is possibly even better than the original game. It carries on the storyline and has more challenging quests, both in the side quest and the main quest. Finally, this is a lovely game--the graphics are well above average, and the music--well, I have many of the tracks, especially from Underworld, on my iTunes playlist. ...

Railroad Tycoon 3

2 stars (The developers confused "family friendly" with "childlike") - I was addicted to Railroad Tycoon 2, but unfortunately it wouldn't play under my new operating system. I was thrilled to find RT3 and eagerly awaited its delivery. Unfortunately, RT3 has lost much of the complexity and the underhandedness that made RT2 so much fun. For example: - in RT2, only industries or resources inside your station's field of influence would be serviced by your trains. In RT3, each station has a vague, undefined "area of influence" that goes beyond the size of your station's shown field. Is that feedlot, grain farm, or mine close enough to your station so you don't have to build another closer station? Good luck figuring it out. - in RT2, one could designate different loads for cars in the same manifest. This can't be done now. This makes it very difficult to produce goods manufactured from more than one type of raw material. - the graphics are very comic-book like, and would more appeal to children around the age of three than they would adults. Very unattractive and simplistic. I would have even preferred a 2-D model with more sophistication. - the business models have been vastly oversimplified, and the AI companies are not one thousandth as cutthroat as in RT2. This is a bad thing. Historically, rail companies were not paragons of industry; for a historical sim to be realistic, it has to reflect the true conditions of the industry. The rail business in RT3 appears to have been emasculated, perhaps to appeal to young naive children, but it's lost much of its interest for adults. - creating new maps and new scenarios is much more complicated in RT3 than it was in RT2. - the weather is a useless, worthless feature that eats memory. Yes, you can turn it off, but it still takes up a lot of space in storage memory. I did not much enjoy RT3. It appears to have lost much of the detail that made RT2 so enjoyable (wasn't it great to finally get iron *and* coal, send one tr...

The Sims Unleashed Expansion Pack

3 stars (Considerable Expansion Pack for Pet Lovers) - With this expansion pack installed, you will see some pets in your neighborhood. Once in several days, you'll meet not only street cats and dogs, but also some skunk! Having animals around is not always a good thing. You will have more things to do at home. Cleaning up their poo, bathing them, expense more on their food, etc. While keeping a pet at home could means more trouble, you'll have some advantages on them. If you have a dog, you can have your daily newspaper brought in your house by your dog. Or if you pet a cat, you'll see that cockroaches around the corner aren't there anymore (yes, your cat eat them up!). With this expansion pack installed, you will be able to pet a dog, cat, fish, bird, iguana, etc. When you buy a dog or cat, you can choose its colour and name it. You should buy toys and other tools for your pet. Of course you cannot make your cat sleep in a bird's cage. What is more, you'll see that your neighborhood is enlarged! You will have more lots to be built. Either as a house, or as a common place for you to visit (you can build shops, pets shop, etc) As I don't really like pets and I am disturbed by those wild animals around my house, I don't like this expansion pack very much. I would prefer buying another expansion pack for this game such as Superstar or Makin' Magic. 5 stars (please help) - i want get a sims game but my mom thinks its bad. what is there in the game and what certain age do you have to be? i hope you guys help me. if you do put your title as problem for help. thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou bye :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) 5 stars (A great game overall) - This game is a lot more fun that the Deluxe Edition because you actually get to go out of the house and to shop. You can buy pets and meet new people at the shops. You also get to create new stores, like pet stores, dog and cat adoption centers, gardening shops, food shops. The neighborhoods ...

Age of Empires 2 Gold

5 stars (I still love it after all these years... if you own a computer, you NEED this game.) - Age of Empires 2 was the first game I ever got for my computer. It was six years ago, I was ten. It... blew my mind, it was so amazing. I did all the campaigns, it took me about a year on again off again to beat all of them, but hey, I was ten. So then I started working on the 'random maps' in the game. The regular ones were fun, wether one-on-one, eight people in a free-for-all, or balanced teams, it was amazing. The replayability just took me aback. Deathmatches offered almost instant action, giving players hoards of rescources, allowing them to concentrate on militarisation rahter than their economy. But my favourite type of game was Regicide. Each player gets a King and a Castle at the beginning, and you're defeated once your King dies. This beacame a game of cat-and-mouse, building castles wherever I could and always moving the King, trying to protect his royal [if inept] majesty from hoards of bloodthirsty enemies all vying to deliver his crown to their own soverign. All marvelous fun. And I haven't even begun to comment on the system itself. Each of the four ages, dark, feudal, castle, and imperial, represent disticnt points in history. For example, cavalry is not available in the Dark age, and only weak scouts in the Feudal age. The Castle age brings with it heavily armoured knights, as well as horse archers to harass enemy villagers and cripple their economies. And this is just cavalry. Archers, infantry, and siege weapons evolve dramatically as you progress, from rag-tag Militia wielding simple clubs, to the menacing Champions armed with monstrous two-handed swords, and this is just Infantry. Also, each of the 13 civilizations has its own benefits, such as the Turks' cheaper gunpowder units or the Fraknish bonuses to knight hitpoints. In addition, each civilization gets one [some even get two] unique units, which only they can produce. The By...

IL2- Forgotten Battles Gold Pack

5 stars (Great and well worth it!) - If your going to buy a combat flight sim buy this. Replay, graphics, gameplay, everything is surpurb to anything Microsoft puts out there except FS2004 which is not a combat flight sim. .........and when you purchase this great bundle buy Combat over Europe and Pacific Fighters to go along with it. Endless gameplay and missions and if you still get bored you can download user-made missions for this game on NetWings.com! Never gets boring or old! Overall, it doesn't get any better than this when it comes to WWII combat flight sim's! Take my word for it! 5 stars (Truly Awesome) - Forgotten Battles (FB) is truly awesome with its amazingly realistic graphics. The detail to aircraft (including cockpit interior)will delight the WWII buff and the sunlight effects are stunning and realistic. You can zoom in and out, and have internal and external views. You will however, need to ensure your computer and graphics card can handle the requirements of the game. The flight model can be adjusted to suit ones own individual skill or pleasure levels. Pilot career campaigns can be created from a whole range aircraft including Stuka, Heinkel 111, ME109, IL2, I16, MIGs etc, although these aircraft could be upgraded during the pilots career. Once you start to amass a tally, the game has you going back for more to increase your tally. Many variety of aircraft can be encountered, including Gladiators, P40 Kittyhawks, P39 Airacobras, JU88s etc. In the midst of combat on bomber aircraft you can take up the postion of gunners and attempt to shoot down marauding fighters. My only gripe is that there is no strategic element to the game and there is no way you can influence the outcome of the war, but then again the air war on the Eastern Front was almost entirely a tactical affair. Perhaps the creators of the game will have a strategic element in the proposed Battle of Britain game. The FB game includes a Quick Mission builder and a Full Mission Buil...

ER

4 stars ( ER made fun) - This game proved to be challenging and held my attention for hours on end. The possibilities are endless which adds to the challenge of the game. Would highly recommend for anyone who is a fan of ER , and this game will prove entertaining long after the duration of the television show. 4 stars (loved the game- its just not one of those indefinite ending games) - i absolutely loved this game. i am obsessed with the ER show and i really liked this game. Its not complicated at all, but definitely kept me not wanting to stop playing it. It is one of the games, though that is similiar to the csi/law and order series in that its only a set number of missions you can play, unlike the sims or rollercoastertycoon/etc. There are enough missions to keep you going for a while though and its really fun to try and become a good doctor and then get your own med students. you definitely should download the patch and the game works perfectly fine after that.(otherwise it gradually runs slower and slower). overall, i totally love this game. its challenging, but easy to learn and it kept me interesting and kept me wanting to get better as a doctor and earn the specialty personality traits. you can even form relationships with other doctors and kiss them and talk or you can just focus totally on getting your skills way up there. either way, if you love the show, youll love the game!! 3 stars (Fun, but waaaaay too short!) - I really enjoyed this game, but was stunned to find that the game ended after I had only been playing it for a couple of days (not straigt, in few hour increments) I agree with others in saying that this game was not what I thought it was going to be and was definitely not worth the money that I spent on it. If it kept on going and gave you the option to go past the intern level it would have been a lot better. I've played one game of this and won't play another..I just don't see how there would even really be more than one way t...

The Matrix Online

4 stars (If you're a Matrix fan, this might be for you. Otherwise....) - If you're a fan of the Matrix, you'll appreciate that this game is about as close as we can come to bringing the movie to life. Hundreds or thousands of people, all connected to the same virtual environment - in essence, "jacked in" to the Matrix. Without going into enormous detail, let me just say that the world of the Matrix is huge and there are many, many different things to do and explore. The system of movement and (especially) combat is difficult at first, but after a period of adjustment, it becomes very easy to operate. The best part is that you can participate in the continuation of the Matrix story. If you didn't find enough resolution at the end of the third movie, this is your chance to find out what happens next. Now for the bad news. The MegaCity in the Matrix is rampant with street gangs. At first, ALL of them are tougher than you. This tends to restrict the areas you have access to. As you progress in the game, you earn experience points which will eventually raise your character to a higher level (you start at level 1 and max out at level 50). The higher your level, the tougher your character. This isn't really the bad news. The bad news is the incredible amount of time it takes to raise your levels. They go quickly at first, but soon it takes several hours of committed gameplay to raise yourself even one level. That in itself wouldn't be such a problem, but you can't really participate in the major live events unless you attain a very high level. THE BOTTOM LINE: The game will be a rewarding experience to fans of the Matrix who won't mind the level of commitment required to progress in the game. Those who don't care about the story of the Matrix are likely to become frustrated early on. However, if you're curious about the game, it's only $30 and that comes with a free month of gameplay. A month is plenty of time to find out whether or not you're willing to pay $15 ...

Stronghold 2

5 stars (Excellent Medieval SIM) - If you are looking for a great castle sim, with a challenging combat/siege warfare system, look no further. I'm a medieval history buff, and have always been interested in everything from combat to politics to feudal life. This game, while not perfect, is a fulfilling escape into the world of knights and barbarians. As far as hardware issues go, I have had none. My computer exceeds the recommended specs and I play with all settings maxed in 1600x1200x24 resolution (AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 2gb Corsair PC3200 RAM, PNY GeForce 6800GT). However I would not recommend that someone who has only the minimum or even recommended system requirements turn on all the eye-candy. Castle siege scenes can become quite demanding on both the processor and video card, but if you have the hardware it is quite beautiful and realistic. I haven't encountered any in-game bugs - at least none that have impaired my gaming experience in any noticable way. This seems to be a very well designed game, and although it may still be a work in progress, the foundation is there for a very fun, replayable game. The support staff and developers seem dedicated to continuing to update this game and provide help for users who encounter problems. I would highly recommend this game to anyone interested in historical sims, real time strategy, or castle wall demolition. 4 stars (cool) - On my computer the game worked flawlessly. The game is very cool with hardly any cons. The cons are that the stupid peasants poo in the middle of your town and you have to build a gong farmer. The dungeons and punishment in the game is easy for any body that doesnt get it. You build a courthouse, a guard post, a torture guild, a punishment, and whenever the criminal has his bag out you click on the guard with the black staff then on the criminal then he will bring him to the dungeon to await his punishment. In this game though whenever I do free build where you build from scratch it jus...

Knights of Honor

5 stars (What is Thy Will, M'lord?) - Well it seems up to me to set the record here... There aren't many reviews as of this typing and the game is getting scarce (might be discontinued - stores aren't getting new copies?)... So what's the boggle folks? Three important points to cover in this review, here they go: 1. Performance? This game, as far as I've experienced, as no bugs. It runs flawlessly, doesn't stutter or pause at all, and the graphics and sound quality are astounding. If you like 3D then Poo-Poo on you: the 2D graphics in this game outshine many 3D games on the market. The major problems that many PC-gamers have that they don't realize are among the following: virus scanning software running in the background, unnecessary background programs in memory, outdated drivers (video, sound, motherboard, etc), or just plain shoddy equipment (the cheapest and best advertised isn't the best quality!)... For the sake of guidance make sure you PC matches or exceeds the minimum requirements: the game developers did a good job of estimating what kind of hardware is needed to run the game smoothly... 2. Gameplay? Moooohahah! Total War - Total what? Knights of Honor (KoH) is on a level that cannot be compared with the current offering of strategy titles - perhaps that is why it hasn't exploded on the scene... KoH is much slower paced than other games (possibly even more time-consuming than Civilization - or at least equal)... But that is its strength: if you don't like to micromanage and don't have the patience to wait several minutes for something, anything, to happen then don't bother with KoH... The user interface, help menus, and in-game events are easy to follow and manipulate. The options for guiding your nation surpass any game I've played recently (again with maybe the exception of the latest Civlization offering)... If you like Civilization and Medieval simulations then KoH has consumed anything available today - play the demo and see for yoursel...

Galactic Civilizations Deluxe

5 stars (Strategy Game Star Trek) - Here is a simple galactic conquest stategy game that allows you to play in spurts if you can tear yourself away from it. It's just complex enough to allow you to become immursed in it. The AI is intelligent enough to provide a challenge. 1 stars (Terrible AI won't even bother to attack you) - Galactic Civilizations is the junk food of 4x games. It's filling and comfortably familar, but after awhile you realize it's making you sick. It's basically what you would expect if you took every successful 4x game and merged them together, but with no regards for balance or gameplay. The feature list looks impressive, until you realize half the features are broken or unbalanced. Here's a sample game I played once I realized how broken things were: Normal difficulty/Small Map Right away I colonized 2 systems. I did nothing except change research, occasionally build a building, and hit next turn. I did not build any attack/defense ships. This went on until near the end of the research tree(!), when finally the AI attacked. I built ships to defend, but I was overwhelmed as you would expect. Then they ground invaded. Carrier of 5 million lost for them, killed 3 million of mine, repeat. Sounds bad since I only had 2 planets, right? Well unfortunately the pop of my planet they were invading was 100 billion. They couldn't conceiveably wipe me out since they couldn't make transports fast enough. Why are transports "used up" when you attack anyway? So after a few hundred attempts they seemed to give up then space sharks were randomly spawned. Since I had no ships they didn't attack me, and instead wiped out both the remaining ai player's fleets. I couldn't invade for the same reasons they couldn't invade me though, so I just waited to see what would happen. Eventually I was given one of the AI's systems. Turns out I had set some money in "destabilize" a few dozen turns ago. I pumped up the amount of money i was spending on it, to ...

Port Royale 2

4 stars (Great game, but be sure on what you're looking for.) - This is a great game, very fun, but make sure this is what you are looking for. This is not some sort of action, adventure, or RPG game. This is a strategy. My review won't go into detail, you can read tons of detail from other reviews, but I wanted to make sure you all know, this is a strategy game, don't buy it thinking it is anything other than that. 4 stars ( Port Royale 2 ) - I downloaded the demo version and liked it so I ordered the game. I opened it and tried to load it onto my computer. Wouldn't do it. Tried another computer, still wouldn't do it. I then tried my wifes computer and it downloaded. Tried to play it and it crashed. I went to the website and found I wasn't the only one having a problem, the answers were evidently in the video card. I gave it to my son. He downloaded it on his homebuilt computer and it works. question 1 and 2 are his feelings about the game. He thanks me for buying the game for him. Advice, make sure you have everything the system requirements ask for before you buy the game. I thought that since the demo worked so well that the full game would also, wrong. 4 stars (Good Game) - I am a pirate simulation guy. I played Pirates, Pirates Gold, Pirates 2004, Sea Dogs, Pirates of the Caribbean, Port Royale and High Seas. No game has the trading down like Port Royale 2 . It is the best trade simulation game available, bar none. With that said, the piracy part of the game is very difficult. You cannot operate at all without a Letter of Marque. If you attack a country's ships without a letter everyone pretty much hates you and you cannot trade any more. The game for you is basically over. You need to trade (which means you probably need to be friendly with 2 countries). Although you can buy your reputation back to neutral or just wait long enough for your reputation to get better. I think this makes the game more true to life. The ship to ship fighting is pretty basic, yo...

The Lord of the Rings- The Battle for Middle-Earth DVD-ROM

4 stars (Fun, but overall...) - Now, don't get me wrong here. Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth is a very pleasing, eye-catching game that can keep one entertained for quite a long time. But if you choose to venture on a campaign, after returning to your computer to play a bit more again and again, you'll begin to notice that the game starts to become more and more repetitive as you progress. In the game, your goals are very simple: Build some places, nab some resources, beat the stuffing out of people who get into your way. The variation in scenery and in different battalions is pleasing and adds to the eyecandy of the game, but eyecandy doesn't make the playing much more fun - thus, even in the larger, more exciting battles, I began to get bored as the game progressed. Overall, the game will be a great enjoyment for hardcore LOTR fans, but for people who aren't as attatched to the series, it may be a bit of a disappointment - especially considering the heavy price. If you love games with fancy graphics and heaps of battle events, though, it's worth the $40 dollars you'll spend on it. 3 stars (Great Singleplayer, Lackluster Multiplayer / Replayability) - If you're looking at this game for the single player campaign, you won't be disappointed. It's fun and pretty lengthy. The graphics and the combat are all superb, as is the storyline and voice acting, much of which is done by the actors from the movies. However, this game has two faults: 1) Replayability. There really isn't any. It's a shame because with the "Risk-style" overhead map of middle earth, they could have turned this into some sort of large scale strategy wargame without much more effort. Instead, it's a fairly linear game and once you've played it through once there's not much point in playing it through again. So the campaign is long and fun but replayability is low. 2) Multiplayer isn't that great. I'll go into some depth on this: Multiplayer will seem fun at first. It's wel...

5 stars (Needs Expansion but good game) - Ive been a huge fan of the first and when i heard about the second i counted down the days and finally it came out it was amazing much better then the first great graphics tons of options and Extreamely fun online and its free and 8 people can play at once and can make alliances and betray your allies and then NUKE them like crazy or use spys to make there reasourses posines or just make a huge army of GIANT robots and go slauter your enemy so as you can see theres tons of differnt ways to play 15 ages hundreds of buildings and dozens of units however if you got a crappy computer it will lag but its still fun so throw out War Craft or Age of Empires because the KING of RTS is here so buy it log on and kill 5 stars (FROM Cavalry Riders TO ROBOTS from Pitch forks to NUKES) - now me and my friends always would play the first together online it was a blast But one day one of my friends logged on and said that they are making a sequel WOW! so we waited until finally it came out but it wasnt as popular as we whould have hoped we were woried it may have been a stinker but when we got on we saw that it was in fact the KING of RTS it truely feels like you are in an actual war with weather blood stains However it does lagg a little but its worth it dozens of years to choose from TONS of civilzations and the Max POP is 2000 WOW the campaign may be a little boring but scrimishes rock and online play unimagineable 1 stars (Doesnt work) - The only good this game is good for is crashing your computer. when it works it extremely slow and unplayable. You have to hack the configuration files just to get it somewhat playable when it should work right out of the box. The developer abandoned support. If you get it working for the 10 minutes that it does work the graphics are terrible. Empire Earth 1 is better, the graphics were better and the game was playable. What happened this time?? A:the graphics are not great but i dont care and when you play it youll see that there not bad but there not great either! hope i helped and have a great life! :-) 5 stars (better than the gamecube version) - this game is awsome and its exatly like having a totally new life! the controls are easy and building the houses is fun and easy too. so mostly all is left is to have fun with cool features! i love it because right after you install the deluxe you can start on the expantions witch are best part of this pack. dont worry about the t rating its totally safe because mostly kids play and daydream about a boyfriend and to have popular friends and wear whatever they want! cool game and better than the gamecube because the gamecube sims is so hard to control and so hard to figure out! i am a gamecube fan but they should not make a sims game for it. this one rocks and the price is great but i got a long time ago so i got for 40 dollars flat! get it now and start livin'!!!!! 4 stars (The Sims) - I recently played the sims and loved it! If you have ever played games such as zoo tycoon and enjoyed it, the sims is a exellent choice. ...

Railroad Tycoon 3 Mac

4 stars (Big price problem) - I would have ordered this game, but since the Macsoft store (U.S. only) sells it for 20 bucks there is no way you should be paying the price thay want here. Something is out of whack! 4 stars (Better than before) - After anxiously waiting for a Mac release of Railroad Tycoon 3, I find that it's a much-needed upgrade of Railroad Tycoon 2. However, that's really all it is -- I'd be tempted to call it Railroad Tycoon 2.5 rather than 3. There are probably enough changes to track building and industries to warrant a new version number, but other than that and a few interface changes, RT3 is essentially the same game as RT2. The most obvious difference is in the graphics. The new 3-D engine is fantastic. You can actually watch the side rods of most of the steam engines go round and round. Tracks are a bit high off the ground, which is a little distracting at first, but overall the graphics are a huge improvement. Track laying is substantially improved from the previous version of the game, as well. Most significant is the return of tunnels, one of the most maligned omissions in RT2. You can also build a bridge over another railroad or duck under an existing bridge, a feature fans of this game series have long wished for. Gone is the grid with its limitations of tracks at only eight angles. You can now create smooth, sweeping curves at any angle you please. That said, the gradients could use some tweaking. Particularly annoying are the ramps leading to bridges. It's silly to have a 3% grade just because you're crossing a river. Likewise, I found it very difficult to create a railroad in even slightly hilly terrain that didn't resemble a roller coaster. And don't think this is a model layout design aid, either. It's impossible to force tracks to go where you want them. Maintenance shops and service towers are now separate elements. You can't place a service tower at a depot and have a locomotive serviced while it's making its station stop. ...

Civilization 3- Game Of The Year Edition Mac

4 stars (Spainfinatic) - I have used Civilization 3 for years, and also Civilization 3 Conquests Expansion pack, for years. The infinite possibilites every time you do the game is amazing! Also, in Civilization, you don't just...BEAT the game. Rather, you beat a type of scenario. For example. One time i was Isabella of the Spaniards(!THE BEST!) and i became really, really powerful. I had nuclear weapons, and no one else did. I drove out everyone else to South America and Africa (haha!) and took Asia, Europe, and North America all to myself. Still, though, that was only one scenario, and i didn't do the space race. Actually, i've never finished the space race, come to think of it. BUT THIS GAME IS GREEEAAAAAAAT! 4 stars (Fun and Addicting...sound familar??) - If you liked civ 2, then civ 3 is right up your alley. All the little things that civ 2 lacked, civ 3 makes up for. The first day I bought this game I must have played for 14 hours straight its that addicting, the game actually keeps you from doing or thinking about anything else except the game... The game does not run slow at all, it runs at a speed comparable to civ2 if not a little bit faster, and the A.I. is much smarter and more challenging to contend with. If you remember Colonization and the original civilization this game has all the features you were wishing for years ago. More animation within the gameplay, not too much because that would take away from this classic strategy game, higher level of intricacy within the game engine, the game has become fully mind absorbing, you are constantly desring to improve your nation and the city improvements actually morph throughout different time periods, arial views of cities are much more appealing than we've seen before. But be warned its hard to stop playing once you start. I can't explain it, find out for yourself. 5 stars (Awesome) - This game was really good and that everyone who likes building armies should try it. It's only a little slow so don't let th...
