5 stars (Roxio Toast 7 Titanium (MAC)) - This is a great product, has some nice new features like making a Music CD, CD-Text. 4 stars (much needed improvement) - After using Toast 5 & 6 for a while I received version 7 with great anticipation. Installation is as easy as it gets, and the interface (while hardly changed form v6) is intuitive. One of the best enhancements I've encountered so far is the use of hybrid discs. In the past, the only option was "Custom Hybrid", which didn't always work. This option still exists, but the new, simpler hybrid Mac/PC format (while giving slightly less custom options on the Mac side) is finally dead simple - choose the files you want and designate if they should be burned for Mac, PC or both by using checkboxes. Other new features include improved DVD burning and backing up many files or one large file over several discs, while still being able to acess them one by one. The price is not too bad and a $20 rebate is available for previous owners. I recommend it. 5 stars (For video-philes!) - Quite simply, there's no other single program out there that will do so much. Here's just one example to add to those mentioned by other customers. It's great to be able to combine movie titles from DVD backups( from saved TS folders on my harddrive ), multiple iMovie projects, DivX and original DV footage on one disc. Then, I saved the whole as an oversized disc image and use DVD compression to fit it onto a single DVD! The program offers a choice of several menu themes that are artistic and easy to navigate. Then, I used the disc spanning feature to backup some (huge!) DV source files to multiple DVDs. ... 1 stars (Poor Customer Service) - The software hangs up when trying to scan a file. Repeated attempts to get help from tech support resulted only in a string of emails that asked me the same questions over and over. 5 stars (easy to use, works great) - I have used Panda Titanium for the past two years at our small office with 11 PC's. You really can install it and forget about it. Works great and runs invisibly without slowing down your PC. I've used Norton, McAfee, PC-cillin and others in the past and Panda beats all of them by miles. 5 stars (Better than McAffeeor Norton) - I have been using Panda for the past 4 years with none of the incidents described inthe bad reviews. Quite the contrary, Norton and McAfee are so bloated that they will slow down or cause confilcts more often. I use this software on my desktop, a 3GHz XP Pro system running DSL thru a Linksys firewall/router, running ZoneAlarm (free edition) as a software firewall. I also use this on my 2 show laptops (I do computer work for meetings and conferences) both Gateways running XP Pro, and my wife's laptop running Windows Me (soon to be upgraded) all without incident. I have NEVER caught a virus or trojan or worm since running Panda. Also, as I need to shut off all TSR programs (terminate and stay resident) and other unnecessary background software while running a show to make the computer more efficient, Panda is easily shut off, whereas McAfee will turn itself back on randomly after you turn it off, and Norton's bloatware (look in the system startup and see just how many programs it loads. Astonishing!) is near impossible to turn off. I've never needed tech support from Panda, so I can't speak on that aspect. I do freelance tech support building, configuring and repairing PCs and have found that most problems stem from downloading 'free' (beware of anything 'free') software that installs spyware and adware (I use both Spybot and Adaware), and having lots of TSRs, especially unnecess... Of the information in this LITTLE publication MOST OF IT can be easily found online unless you are a beginner,most of the information presented in this publication is pretty basic and is sold as...well you may try. Will the author try Yahoo or MSN too? Not a bad idea Well dont be so hard try the "Stupid Google Tricks" you are only giving away $2.00 dollars it may worth the expense 1 stars (N. L. This "book" is out dated and probably never did have any useful information that is not available of the Google site. And guess what the arrow on the cover is covering up? The list price is $1.99. 4 stars (Great Product) - I am using Toast 6 for Mac to convert my vinyl to digital format. After trying other products, I bought this for the CD Spin Doctor program. It is easy to use and the editing features work very well. Vinyl conversion is a labor of love - the process is slow, but the end results with CD Spin Doctor are excellent. The program gives you the flexibility to break the recording into separate tracks and to name each one. The tracks can then be imported into iTunes and converted to MP3 (the steps are posted on the Apple website). One flaw - if you cut an album into tracks, they play in alphabetical order, not in the order they were recorded. (Commerically digitized tracks have hidden tags so the songs play in the order they were placed on the CD). The only knock is that the program crashes on a fairly regular basis. I find, for best results, the entire computer needs to be rebooted frequently, which is VERY uncharacteristic for a Mac. 5 stars (Discus 3.0.4 upgrade Label/Jewel Case Software is Tops) - I own Toast 6 with two upgrades. (6.0.5) Using OS X 3.4 I needed a software update for my LaCie Burner. The Technical Help is quick and fast at Toast/Roxio. They told me to download it and gave me the link. Last night I Toasted some CD-ROM's for training Case Managers. I burned Six CD and Printed Labels and Jewel Case Inserts and Tray liner in a half hour. The extra $20 to upgrade to Discus 3.0.4 is well worth the Time and Money. (Newer Software and Full artwork) Real Pro looking Artwork and Label from a great Library. You can use any brand of Paper (Avery, Neato, Memorex etc.) and even nudge 0.5 mm adjustment if necessary. Memorex tray liners got an adjustment and it work for all futures use of that paper. This software lets you import for iTunes and Toast what you are Toasting for a list of software or Song Lists etc. Software so easy, I did NOT read the directions.
